In 1999, Jane Shafer and Stew partnered to form 20 Toe Photo, which became the leading source of pro sports photography in the Rochester area. Between 1999 and 2007, when he left 20 Toe Photo, Stew shot amongst others: Rochester Rhinos (A League, USL 1st Division), Rhinos women, USA Women's Soccer and WUSA.
